Ideas, wishes, and what you’d change.
Open the host dashboard and look for Get Ready. It opens by itself the first time, and any time after that from Setup → Get Ready. Tell it what you have to sing with, and it checks your screen, songs and Wi-Fi and shows what is left, with a button to each fix. A step you do not plan to use can be marked I’m not using this, and brought back later.
To test the whole setup from start to finish, follow the quick check.
Tap the step that has a warning. A song folder on an unplugged drive shows as offline until you reconnect it. Online search needs a separate helper program running, with its address saved; use the test button in that step to check it. A sample helper is available, provided as is, without warranty or support. Tap Check again after you fix something.
Make sure their phones are on the same WiFi network as the computer. If the address in the QR code looks wrong, correct it in Party → QR Code / Link. If a link won’t open from a messaging app, use Copy Hostname Link instead. On Windows that may need Apple’s Bonjour installed.
Guests’ phones only need to reach the Jukoke computer. The computer needs the internet only for online songs and search. Bring your own router, ideally one with a SIM card or a travel router that uses your phone’s mobile data, so the night does not depend on the venue. See Venue internet for block diagrams.
Open Party → QR Code / Link. You will see Step 1: Join Wi-Fi and Step 2: Join Jukoke side by side. Guests scan the first to get on your network, then the second to open the party. To show the Wi-Fi code, enter your network name and password once under the Wi-Fi button there. Guests already on the network can skip step 1. Nothing needs installing on their phones.
On Lite and Pro, guests can send you a short private note from the Ask MC button, for example “please find a song for me”. You will see a badge on the Dashboard and Live Guests. Open the requests, add the songs to the guest’s own queue (front or back) and reply with a green, blue or red note. A guest can have a few notes open at once and gets your answer on their own phone. Notes are kept for about 12 hours and are not stored after Jukoke closes.
They may be waiting for your approval (Live Guests → Pending Review), the party may be at the guest limit for your plan, or they may be blocked. If they can join but not add songs, the queue may be full for your plan, or the session may be in its short grace period after the 6 hours are up.
Open Setup → Display, tap Refresh and choose the screen you want. If the picture goes blank after the computer wakes from sleep, use Refresh Player Display in the same place.
Jukoke skips to the next song automatically. Check the Played list for the reason. If the same song keeps failing, blacklist it.
Songs have to be approved in the catalog, the folder they live in must be added and active under Song Source → Song Library, and on Lite or Pro guests need Allow Song Catalog Search. The in-app guide walks through each step.
No. You bring your own karaoke files. Online sources are optional and set up by you. You’re responsible for having the right to play the songs you use, and venues generally need the appropriate public-performance licenses.
Jukoke is free to run on its own. For a bigger party you start a 6-hour session from the Wallet (Party → Wallet) using Play Tokens. Nothing is charged until you confirm, and you see your balance before and after. Buy tokens, or a 30-Day Pro Pass, with Buy More. If you bought a pack, your redeem code arrives by email; type it into the box under Have a code? and tap Redeem. Codes work once, on one installation, and need an internet connection when you redeem.
Check your email, including spam, for the code and redeem it in the Wallet. If nothing arrives within a few minutes, email support@jukeboxoke.com with the email address you used to buy.
Open About in the host screen and tap Copy beside your Install ID. Email it to support@jukeboxoke.com and say what you need the extra time for. If we can help, we send a single-use code that adds trial days to that installation only; it gives no tokens. Enter it under Have a code? in Party → Wallet. It works before, during or after the trial ends, and the Wallet shows when your trial starts and ends. You need version 2026.10.17-002 or later.
On the Jukoke computer, delete the hidden file data/.mc_auth.json and restart Jukoke. This returns the factory password from your install. Passwords are case-sensitive.
Choose More info, then Run anyway. You can check the file first against the SHA-256 value on the download page.
Use Windows Settings → Apps, or Ubuntu’s Software app. Your songs, history and settings stay in place unless you delete them.
